Renault Formula 1 acဣademy member Christian Lundgaard dominated the opening 𓄧race of the FIA Formula 3 race weekend in Hungary to record his first win of the season, picking up maximum points in the process.

After topping qualifying in the morning, Lundgaard managed ꦺto retain his advantage off the line before controlling proceedings at the front of the pack to head up a one-two finish for ART Grand Prix ahead of teammate Max Fewtrell, setting the fastest lap late on for the additional bonus point.

Lundgaard and Fewtrell finished over 10 seconds clear of the field as HWA Racelab's Jake Hughes took third, passing Red Bull youngster Juri Vips to complete the podium. Vips had spent much of the race toiling behind Niko Kari, meaning his tyres were struggl🅠ing by the time he finally made the pass, giving Hughes the chance to sweep past late on.

Vips managed to move up to second place in the championship as Prema's Jehan Daruvala failed to score any points in P11, while Ro♒bert Shwartzman eꦇxtended his advantage at the head of the standings to 20 points by finishing fifth.

Marcus Armstrong will start Sunday's race f♊rom reverse grid pole after battling from 13th on the grid to finish eighth.
