28 drivers are set to contest for 18 places📖 on the 2019 grid for what will mark the first season of the all-new women-only motorsport s𒐪eries. 

The fir🍌st race of the championship takes place at the Hockenheimring in May, before continuing to support the DTM at the Zolder, Misano, Norisring, Assen and Brands Hatch rounds.

W Series revealed its new Hitech GP-supplied car, featuring five different liveries, will hit the track for the first time during the upcoming four-day final evaluation test which starts on March 23, before the 18 successful drivers are announced five days later on March 28. 

“It’ll be much more of a race-focused programme than before,” said W Series racing director and former McLaren F1 sporting director Dave Ryan.&n🐼bsp;

“Obviously we’ll be recording lap-times, and the drivers’ pace will be important. But we’ll also be looking at their rate of improvement throughout the test, and the ability of each driver to work technically💧 and productively with engineers and mechanics, in addition to their stamina and consistency over longer runs.”
