Red Bull confirm junior plans as F3 champion Hauger graduates to F2 with Prema

Formula 3 champion Dennis Hauger will make the step up to Formula 2 with Prema for the 2022 campaign as Red Bull announced its plans for its junior drivers.

Hauger, 18, racked up four victories, three pole positions and nine podium finishes last year as he became the series champion with Prema in his 💯sophomore F3 season. 

The Red𒆙 Bull-backed Norwegian took part in the F2 post-season test with Prema and will graduate🐓 to Formula 1’s direct feeder series. 

“I’m delighted to continue with Prema in 2022. We had a good year in 2021 with some amazing teamwork, and I really enjoyed it,”♏ Hauger said. 

“I’m extremely happy that they keep believing in me, and I’m looking forward to carrying on the hard work we 🐠put in together this season as well.”

Hauger will be joined at Prema by fellow Red Bull junio♛r Jehan Daruvala.

The 23-year-old Indian will make the switch from Carlin to contest his third-full F2෴ season with the single-seater giants. Daruvala scored two wins on his way to finishing seventh last year. 

“I’m really happy to be back at PREMA and continue to be part of the Red Bull Junior Team for the 2022 FIA F2 Championship,” Daruval﷽a said. 

“We have worked together in the past and share a fantastic relationship. PREMA is a champion tea𒁃m and I can’t wait to get started and look forward to a successful F2 campaign.”

Juri Vips will continue to race for Hitech for a second season ✱with the team in F2, while Liam Lawson has made the switch to Carlin for his second campaign in the series. 

Meanwhile, Red Bull and Ho♋nda junior Ayumu Iwasa will make the step up from F3 to compete in his rookie F2 season with DAMS, taking the total number of Red Bull-backed drive🅠rs in the series to five.

In F3, Red Bull junior Jak Crawford has swapped Hitech for Prema to comꦺplete the Italian outfit’s 2022 line-up along🍌side Ollie Bearman and Arthur Leclerc. 

Jonny Edgar has swi💃tched to Trident for his 💖second season in F3, while fellow Red Bull-backed Isack Hadjar will make his F3 debut with Hitech. 

2021 F3 runner-up Jack Doohan, son of five-time MotဣoGP world champion champion Mick, no longer appears tﷺo be associated with Red Bull.
