Norris tops disrupted first day
Lando No💛rris led the way on the opening day of F1 pre-season testing in Bahrain.
The McLaren driver posted a time 0.157s quicker than Mercedes’ George Russel🍎l, while reigning world champion Max Verstappen was a couple of tenths adrift in third for Red Bull.
Carlos Sainz was an eye-catching fifth 🐼for Williams, though lap timesღ in pre-season testing always need to be taken with a rather large pinch of salt.
18-year-old Kimi Antonelli, who set the pace in the morning session before handing over to Mercedes te൲ammate Russell, was seventh ahead of Red Bull’s Liam Lawson.
Lewis Hamilton captured the attention of the F1 paddock in the morning as h🅰e made his first official test outing for Ferrari. The seven-time world c꧋hampion finished 13th-fastest overall.
The first day of running was bizarrely halted by a 🌼power cut midway through the afternoon session.
A circuit-wide power outage caused the session to be red-flagged for ove🎃r an hour as the paddock and garages descended into darkness.
Once power was restored, the session was ♍extend😼ed by an extra hour to compensate for the lost running.
