Verstappen and Hamilton came together as they battled for position at the first chicane on Lap 26 of last we🔯ekend’s Italian GP at Monza.
The Red Bull driver’s car was launched on top of Hamilton’s Mercedes, with his right rear wheel bouncing ov🉐er the roll hoop before striking the Halo and making contact with the seven-time world champion’s helmet.
A new angle captured by an onboard 360-degree camera has provided revealing new footage of the accident, including the mome𝓰nt Verstappen’s wheel ma♛de contact with Hamilton’s head as both cars came to rest in the gravel trap.
Hamilton escaped the collisi♊on with a sore neck and praised F1’s cockpit protection device for saving him from serious injury or death.
"✨Thank God for the halo that ultimately I think saved me and saved my neck," Hamilto♋n said.
“I don't think I've ever been hit on the head by a car before and it's quite a shock for me, because I don't know if you've seen the image but my head really is quite faౠr forward.
“And I've been racing a long, long time, so I'm sꦏo, s🐟o grateful that I'm still here.”
Hamilton said he would visit a specialist ahead of the Russian Grand Prix later♕ this month to ensure he has avoided any kind of i🐠njury.
