Lance Stroll says moving from Williams to Racing Point for the 2019 Formula 1 season felt like a different racing꧙ category, believing the team is in “a much more competitive environment”.

Stroll spent two y꧃ears with Williams, but was left racing towards the back of th𓄧e grid through the 2018 season as the team struggled to compete with its midfield rivals, limiting the Canadian to just six points through the campaign.

St💟roll moved up to Racing Point for 2019, giving him the chance to battle in F1’s midfield more regularly. He recorded six points finishes through the season, including a run to fourth place at the German Grand Prix.

Talking about the adjustment to Racing Point’s car after two years with Williams, Stroll said it felt “like a different category” given the progression made betwe𒉰en both the teams and each season.

“Formula 1 is always changing,” Stroll said. “Tyres are changing every year, a new car is developed, with [more] experಌience, and I think next year is a really exciting year for the tea🦩m.

“We had a lot of challenges coming into this year wiꦰth everything that went on in 2018, with♋ the transition from Force India to Racing Point. I do think that put us on the back foot coming into this year.

“I think next year is really go꧃ing to be representati🌄ve of what we can do over the winter, and how strong we can be when we show up in Melbourne.”

Asked about the mai🙈n differences between Williams and Racing Point, Stroll replied: “I see a difference 💧in speed. You look at the grid, it’s definitely a much more competitive environment.

“There’s a great group of engineers that work here. It’s great working with the guys around me, and I think everyone is really ༺excited about next year, 𓂃to be a part of that is very exciting.

“We’re already looking forward to 2020. I think there’s some unfinished businessꦑ.”
