Former F1 driver Franck Montagny has been suspended from motorsport co😼mpetition after failing a drugs test during the second round of the FIA Formula E Championship.

The Frenchman tested positive for a co🐈caine substitute during the event in P✃utrajaya in Malaysia, Montagny opting not to request a B sample, thus assuring an immediate suspension from racing.

"Racing may be over for me", told L'equipe. "After the race, I saw the guy making a signal. I understood im🌌mediately. I knew it was over for me. I took the plane. I went shopping for two days. I didn't want to be alone at home. Then I called my parents to tell them. I was ashamed."

Montagny, who started seven grands prix for Super A🐻guri in 2006, is has also established a successful career competing in sportscars - with four podium finishes in the Le Mans 24 Hours - and in American open-wheel racing.

He missed the third round of the Formula E Championship in Uruguay, citing illneꦑss at the time, with the 36 year-old now facing a significant period out of competition.

Failed drugs tests in motorsport are rare, though Tomas Enge was stripped of his Formula 3000 title in 2002 after failing a drugs teဣst for marujana.
