Snetterton: Welch Motorsport pulls out of Snetterton
Welch Motorsport will miss the sixth round of the 2015 British Touring Car Championship at Snetterton this weekend after failing 💮to take supply of engine parts for its Proton Persona machines.
Both Andy Wilmot and Daniel Welch will🍨 be forced to skip the Norfolk circuit event after not receiving reliability-related engine parts from overseas suppliers, which tam principal John Welch says the team cannot compete without.
"In our attempts to continue to move forward we made a decision to update our engines with what we saw as vital reliability-related parts," Welch said. "Unfortunately we have been let down by an🥃 overseas supplier in this regard and will not be able to complete the engine build until these components arrive.
"This is obviously a frustrating situation for all concerned, but we must thank our partners and sponsors who have all been extremely supportive towards what we believe is a bright long-term future for Wel🌳ch Motorsport."
Welch confirmed he expects his 🗹Hampshire-based team to return for round seven at Knockhill 𒊎on the 22-23 August.
"Naturally we are extremely disappointed to be 🥂missing the event at Snetterton this weekend," Welch added🍒. "Whilst it has been a challenging season thus far we have been making extremely good progress in recent weeks and months."
After struggling to get the Proton Perso🌠na machines racing during the opening two rounds Welch Motorsport had began to find a level of consistency and scored its first point of the season in race three at Oulton Park when Daniel Welch notched up a 15th-place finish.
