It mꦅarks the latest attempt to get the Andretti name onto the F1 grid after plans to enter with Sauber-owned Alfa Romeo fell thro꧃ugh last year.
Andretti had bee🍷n looking to acquire an 80 percent share of Islero Investments to put it ꦑcontrol of the Sauber Motorsport and Sauber Engineering divisions before it hit a snag.
Andretti blamed “control issues” for the collapseﷺ of the deal ahead of the United States Grand Prix in October.
“I’d just like to put ♊an end to some of those rumours that the deal fell through because🎃 of financial reasons,” he said at the time.
“Tꦉhat couldn’t be further from the truth and it was nothing to do with 🥂that.
“It baꦍsically came down to control issues in the final hours of negotiations and that’s what killed the deal.
“I’ve always🧸 said that if the deal🐻 is not right, we’re not going to do it. And in the end, it wasn’t right.
“And so🐠 we continue to look for other opportunities.”
The Andretti operation already boasts several motorsport outfits including a successful IndyCar team, whiꦯle it has also branched out into Formula E and Extreme E in recent years.
