The Rich Energy OMG Racing rider got a great start and immediately set about his plan to hit the front. The  24 year-old, who already has a second and third under his belt from round one -crashing out of the lead in race two ൩at Silverstone - went one better and secured his first win in four years as he hit the front with a huge swooping move which saw him move from third to first.

From there the Brit never looked back and𒐪 managed his lead at the front after a set of electric laps to stretch out a gap, including a new in-race lap record of 1m 33.865s wh﷽ich will see him start race two from pole, increasing his chances of a repeat performance.

The gap was almost three s🌟econds at the line🧸, as he lead a very youthful top three to the podium.

Rory Skinner gave chase one he too had passe💫d Ray’s team-mate Ryde, who started from pole, but could not match the pace up front - the #28 rider was the only rider to register a sub 1m𝐆34s lap in a dominant performance.

It marks the FS-3 Racing Kawasaki rider’s fourthಞ podium and second rostrum visit of the season.

Ryde admitted keeping up with Ray was an impossible task after he brok🅠e away and was happy with third after finding much more speed than he enjoyed in practice.

After only just getting thꦬrough t♔he damp Q1 to then claim an impressive second with his tyres and set up sorted out, Josh Brookes came close to catching Ryde for MCE Ducati, but ultimately had to settle for fourth.

FHO Racing BMW’s Peter Hickman was a solid fifth after much shuffling on track in the battling, chasing group🦂.

Tommy Bridewell was pleased with his progress but fancied a late podium lunge as his superb late race pace brought him into 𒊎contention. The Oxford Products Racing Ducati man was disappointed not to reach that potential as he was motoring when the red flag was understandably waved and fi𝐆nished sixth.

Christ💛ian Iddon made up an incredible ten places as the weather inporoved, slicing through his rivals to pick up seventh for Buildbase Suzuki, their top performer.

Jason O’Halloran couldn’t match his domineering performance at the early Oulton Park round of 2021, where he took a triple clean sweep, losing out on his almost r𝓀ace lo﷽ng battle with Iddon in seventh, on the bike that won last year’s title with Tarran Mackenzie - McAMS Yamaha.

He held off the attentions of Lee Jackson who swooped around the pair trying to gain places on his way to ninth on the second FS-3 Racing Kawasaki, with Danny Buchan (SYNETIQ BMW Motꦜorrad) completing the top ten.

Glenn Irwin goes from dominance to eleventh.

Glenn Irwin finished the🐻 first round of the season on top of the world and the title standings with a clean sweep of all three races and maximum points taken. Though safelt through to Q2 in seventh without having to deal with the soggy Q1 ༒session, the Honda Racing rider swiftly progressed backwards.

Qualifying down in ninth, Irwin failed to make an impact and spent much of his race alongside his brother, who he overtook late o⛦n for eleventh. That sees him now hold just a eighteen point lead over both Ryde and Skinner after their consistent performances over the opening weekend and the first race at Oulto. Ray winning means he is juꦿst a point shy of the pair with a total of 61.

And♋rew Irwin (SYNETIQ BMW Motorrad) was next to see the cheq꧙uered flag in twelfth.

Former BSB champion 🐭Leon Haslam once again found the going tough, dropping aplace further back from where he qualified in 🌊13th.

The final points on offer went to ri💝ders in the same battle for position, with Ryan Vickers (FHO Racing BMW) holding off an advancing Tom Sykes (MCE Ducati) inꦫ 14th and 15th respectively.

Luke Mossey squandered his front row st𒀰art - running wide early in the race he never recovered and was an eventual 24th for TAG Racing Honda.

Race ends under Reg Flag conditions

The first race at Oulton Park finished on the penultimate lap when David Jo✃hns♌on fell out of contention.

The Rich Energy OMG racing rider endured a nasty highside and was sent spinning along with his bike which then hit him several times before man and machine finally came to rest in the gravel. The flag allowed the stratcher to be brought out to moveﷺ him on for medical attention.

Liam Delves al🌊so ended his day a lap short, while earlier Bjo🌼rn Estment retired to the pits .

British Superbikes continue the Oulton Park race weekend into bank holiday Mo🍰nday, with♋ both race two and three scheduled to run tomorrow.
